Three Years Gone, But Just the Start

Time is definitely a funny thing.

It was three years ago today that Wiley officially released my book The Essentials of Trading. That was a whirlwind period. A lot of book publishing in the traditional model is waiting for things to be done on the publisher’s side. You submit the initial manuscript. It get’s proofed by a copy editor. You go over that proof. Then you sit and wait for it to actually come off the presses. It can be a very slow process when you consider how quickly people can get content into the public arena these days.

As much as the nine months or so from the time that I finished the book’s initial manuscript until it was released may have dragged, the three years since then have certainly not. The book hit the Amazon Top Sellers list almost right away, amid all kinds of promotion and press, which was great to see. Part of me can’t believe that was only three years ago. So many things have happened in the years since that getting the first copy from Wiley feels like a whole other lifetime in some ways.

It’s definitely been a great ride, though. I’ve been able to help a lot of people in their trading development, and that was the whole point. I’m not going to stop any time soon, either. I’ve got more educational plans in the works and I look forward to meeting lots of folks at the LA Traders Expo in June.  :-)
